Ahhhh, what a great weekend! Nothing I love more than spending time with my family. We got to venture out to Sky Top Orchard yesterday. Turns out we weren't the only ones with that great idea! The parking lots were all packed. But who could blame anyone for going? It was such a beautiful Saturday. The sky was nothing but blue, and the temperture was perfect. We got to enjoy this time with Brad's parents too. Trinity loves her Mimi and Papaw so much, and they love her as much as humanly possible. We probably walked a couple miles wandering all over that orchard. We took a break to enjoy their fresh baked apple cider donuts (which you have to try, and I would know, I have eaten 5 of them in the past two days!) We sipped on fresh apple cider, then took a ride on a big wagon pulled by a tractor (which was a little scary, it felt like that thing could have fallen apart at any moment.) I'd love to go back, maybe on a weekday sometime, so it isn't quite as crowded.
Then last night we got to visit with one of Brad's old friends, his parents, and his son. Trinity was in heaven. She got to play with a cute boy, who had all kinds of toy story toys. They both toted around either Buzz or Woody all night long. I got to try a great new beer, that I decided I really like. Would have been nice to have more than one, but being as I'm so responsible, I stopped. After all, I did have to drive home.
Today hasn't been very eventful, but after such a fun-filled day yesterday, the relaxing is wecomed (although grocery shopping, cooking, and cleaning aren't exactly my idea of relaxation time, but I'll take it.) Trinity occupied herself mostly all morning, which allowed me to actually get some stuff done for once. I made some chili, and baked some jalepeno spinach dip (which I have since eaten half of). I'm now getting a few moments to myself. Brad is at a friends watching the Panthers play (and maybe get their first win? Crap, probably just jinxed them.) Trinity is napping. She actually has put herself to sleep at naptime yesterday and today. I tried to lay with her, but she kicked me out. That's a big step for us. Usually she doesn't go to sleep unless I am in bed right beside her. Guess the next step will be sleeping in her own bed all night, and going to sleep without me. Baby steps for now though. I know soon enough she will barely want me in her room, let alone sleeping in her bed. So for now, I'll just cherish the time I get to cuddle with her. Listen to her breathe, staring at her sweet angel face.
Life is good...................

Is It Friday Yet
Ok, so a momentary lapse. I'm allowed to have one every now again. After all, this being positive all the time crap is enough to wear this negative Nessie out! I know, I know, it's only been two posts, but it's been a very draining week. Between work, and stress, and bills, and dishes, and laundry, and Trinity not sleeping in her own bed all night, and Shnoogins licking himself and shaking his damn fur off in the middle of the night, I've ended up a little tired and irritable this week. So, time to vent a little.
I had a customer at work today. He needs proof of insurance on a vehicle that wasn't listed on his policy at the time he needs to show coverage for it. I try to ever-so-nicely tell him I can't give him what he needs. Then, not-so-nicely, he tells me that my insurance company can F*#k off and he's taking his business elsewhere. Did he really think this was going to make me want to go out of my way to help him? Where is it written that when you don't get what you want you have the right to be a complete asshole? I mean, come on, you think telling me you are taking your business elsewhere after acting like that is going to make me sad? Get a life!!
And the whole, Trinity-not-sleeping-in-her-own-bed thing is about to wear me out. I love my child more than anything else in this world. I would do everything and anything for her, but I am so drained from the whole ordeal. I know I should have nipped this habit in the butt a long time ago. Back before she could walk, or before she was out of her crib. But when she was smaller, it didn't seem like a big deal. She barely moved when she slept, and she didn't take up a whole lot of space. Now it's a head in the middle of my back, or an elbow in my side. On one occasion she managed to get her foot down the back of my pajama bottoms. Needless to say that one woke me right up. I'm almost to the point of putting a padlock on the outside of her door and locking it until I'm ready to get up in the morning. Of course, I am a total pushover and I can't stand to hear Trinity crying for more than a few minutes. Someday maybe I'll grow a pair and stand up to my two and a half year old.
And does anyone know a house cleaning fairy? Brad tries, I know he does. But men are not multitaskers. If he has Trinity at home, that is all he can do. Watch Trinity. No time for cleaning the house. He will do the occasional load of laundy or dish, but that's about the extent of it. And let me tell you, I just don't have the energy nor the time to clean the house on my limited time away from my full time job. So, if anyone needs to do a good deed in the near future, I have a house that is crying out for help!
Ok, that's my venting session for this week. I'll try to get back to positive tomorrow. Unless of course another person decides to tell me to F off over their own stupidity.

Not-so-positive
This week I haven't felt too positive about things. Seems to be one thing after another. I'm trying so hard not to focus on the negativity, but it seems to be winning! Seems maybe I need to post a few positive things today to brighten me up. Here goes.....
My number one positive this week, and every week, is my angel, Trinity. No matter how down and out I'm feeling, how low my head is hanging, when I feel like nothing can go right, there she is. She seems to know exactly what to do at the right moment to bring my smile back. A giggle, a smile, a tickle, her telling me she loves me, the giant hugs and kisses she gives me. There is something to be said for a child's perception. I think they can sense when you need them most, and she surely has a gift for that! I am so thankful for her every single day of my life.
My wonderful husband. He cleans, he takes care of our daughter while he's out of work, he walks the dog ALL the time. He listens to me moan and groan. He loves me with his whole heart, and doesn't let a day go by without making sure I know that. In fact, everyday, he asks me "Have I told you that I love you today?" I think that's the sweetest thing! Lord knows this life is short, we never know when someone may be unexpectedly taken from us. He knows how important it is to let the people you love know how you feel. I hope he knows how much I love and appreciate him!
I am blessed to have a job. In today's economy, to be getting a paycheck at all is a blessing. I may not always love my job, but it puts food on the table and a roof over our head. And really, for the most part, it isn't bad. I love the people I work with, and am lucky enough to call most of them friends. We can laugh at each other, vent to each other, and joke around with each other probably more than we should. This job has given me the opportunity of meeting a lot of people in our community, and has made me appreciate living in a small town where everyone knows everyone. I even have clients that I consider friends.
I have a wonderful family, wonderful friends, and pretty good darn life. Things could always be better, things could always be worse. So, here's to looking on the bright side. I feel better today already :)

Beautiful day for a hike....
I used to love hiking. My husband and I went very regularly, a few times a week after work, and at least every Sunday, if not Saturday too. Then came our daughter, and we just kinda stopped. But today was too beautiful a day to not be outside and soak in every beautiful ray of sunshine, every leaf falling, every cool breeze blowing.
We (Brad,Trinity, Shnoogins, & I) took the short drive to DuPont State Forest and headed toward High Falls. Trinity had to see the bathroom (for some reason new restrooms are just amazing to her, maybe because using a big potty is new), then off we went. Trinity started running, which I love to watch. That carefree trot back and forth on the road, with her gorgeous hair bouncing, arms flailing, telling me "You can't catch me". The true amazement in her eyes when she saw the big waterfall. Of course she had to walk down the many, many stairs and over hundreds of tree roots to the bottom of the falls. Thankfully, her Daddy is strong enough to carry her 27 pounds down the long path, while I very carefully worked my way down, trying not to trip on my own feet. We got to take a bunch of pictures in front of High Falls, which was roaring with water from all the much needed rain a few days before.
After the falls, we hiked back up. We stopped for another potty break (T had to check out the port-a-john), then we enjoyed a snack. Trinity was off and running laps in the grassy area where we stopped. She discovered some crickets and a lady bug. I thought I would be funny and get her to touch the lady bug, which was unsuccessful. I tried to put it on her pants and my little girlie girl knocked that thing right out of my hand. Guess she doesn't care for bugs too much :). So on we went to the covered bridge.
We collected some rocks along the way,so she would have a good bunch to throw into the river. We ran into many, many smiling, happy faces. Everyone was so friendly, saying hello, talking to Trinity, petting Shnoogins. There is never a shortage of friendly people here. I love that about this area. People truly seem to care about each other.
After the bridge, we ran into a group of men on horses. Trinity was awe struck at the horses up close, and one of the very nice gentlemen let her pet his horse. She went to pet his nose, and he licked her hand a little. The sound of that giggle out of her mouth was priceless. I hated to take her away from that moment. If given permission, I think she would have hopped on that thing and tried to ride it! My girl is definitely an animal lover.
Back to the car we went. At this point, T was getting a little worn out. Brad being the wonderful Daddy he is, propped her up on his shoulders and took off into a gallop like the horse :) They chased Shnoogs and I down the road, Trinity and Brad trying to "catch" me. I took a moment to breathe it all in. I am so truly blessed in this life. I have a husband that loves me like no other could, and a daughter that never ceases to amaze me with her curiousity and free spirit.
Can't wait to see what tomorrow holds for us.......
